desperate calls |
I was fine yesterday.
But with one word, everything came crashing down.
Ping, you don't know how much I needed to smile right now and your words made me smile. Thank you.
I need all of your prayers right now. I am at lowest of my low and I am clueless. I don't know what to do. Please pray for me. |

updating |
Since I wasn't doing anything right now, I decided to re-learn HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript. I wanted to do something more about my blog but I seem to have missed a lesson somewhere coz no matter what I do, there are still some stuff, HTML and JavaScript stuff, that I still can't do. But I'm not giving up coz I can do this.

Have been feeling so down the past few days and I had no idea what triggered it and why I've been feeling so down. Take for example yesterday. I was walking by myself at Glorietta when I felt I was going to cry right then and there. I was able to stop myself and I went to my room agad. (I was checked in at Shangri-La Makati so it was a short walk.) When I got home this afternoon, I received the most amazing e-mail about what I've been feeling. It said that the reason people feel lonely at one point or another is because God wants us to talk to Him. And then I realized that I haven't talked to God nga in a long time. I'm so sorry, Lord.
I just discovered this fun game through the Living Room. It's called Are You Going To Heaven?. Check it out!
From blogger seeds:
What kinds of foods do you like to eat? Do you consider yourself a "healthy eater?" Why or why not? I like eating all kinds of food but I always try to eat in moderation. I love to eat Mexican, Japanese and, of course, Filipino food. I'm not a very healthy eater. I try to watch what I eat but sometimes I do slip up.
Saturday-8: "Kid Stuff"
- What's the one memory of your childhood that makes you laugh everytime you look back?
Whenever I'm with my cousins. We always have a good time together. We don't get to hang out much together anymore so it's good that I have a lot of memories with them that I can look back at.
- Everyone had a favorite toy, pet, blanket, etc. What was your favorite thing as a kid?
My Barbie dolls and accessories.
- What was the most idiodic thing you did when you were a kid?
Most stupid? Hurting others accidentally and lying about it.
- Who was your best friend as a kid?
Rhona and Jessica
- Is there anything that you did when you were a kid that you still do to this day? For example, you might have a bad habit of biting your finger nails.
Watch cartoons? :)
- Who did you look up to as a kid?
Nope. Nope. Can't remember. Sorry.
- What was your favorite snack as a kid?
Tortillos.
- What's your fondest memory as a kid?
Davao.

Imagine my surprise, when while watching Meteor Garden yesterday, I found out that Senator and Companero Rene Cayetano has died at the age of 68. You can read the news here. I had a lot of respect for the guy, especially since, in my opinion, he never sold out to the root of all evil: money. It's so sad to see the good ones die and go to a better place with God and the bad ones still wreaking havoc on land.
I just finished reading this book yesterday and I am dying to talk to someone about it! No one I know who has it have finished reading the book yet.
I watched the wedding of Donita Rose to Eric Villarama a couple of nights ago on GMA and I was just flabbergasted. It was so simple and it was so beautiful. It just goes to prove that you don't need to have all the classiest names and decorations to have a truly beautiful wedding. I just wish my wedding will be as beautiful as hers.Labels: harry potter, news, weddings |

We got our copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix this morning when we got to Fully Booked at the Powerplant Mall. My sister’s still a bit dazed and cannot believe that she has a copy of the book already. Hehehe. But I get to be the first to read it coz she has school next week. Hehehe. Lucky me!
Watched Darkness Falls at Galleria this afternoon and, well, you’d expect it to be a B-movie but damn man! It was so creepy! The only part I didn’t like was the ending, which reeked. Sayang. Maganda na sana eh. They just weren’t able to keep the momentum.
It’s Ida’s baby shower tomorrow and I’m real excited to see my friends once again!
Why do people still refuse to put their cellphones into silent mode when inside the church or the moviehouse? Why do people refuse to listen? Do they like irritating other people? Do they like being rude? Do they like being stupid? And what is up with people riding motorcycles without helmets? Do they think it's cool? It's not. It will be more cool if they wore their helmets.
1. Do you offer comments and/or trackback on your blog? Why or why not? Under what circumstances might you pull one or both of these feedback features? Yeah I do. I’d pull it out when visitors use it to harass me or insult me.
2. How do you handle comment trolls? Would you edit their posts or those of others who might express a differing opinion or offensive tone? Why or why not?I’ve never encountered comment trolls yet but if I do, I’d just ignore them. I won’t “encourage their nastiness” by giving them the time of day. Then maybe they’ll go away.
3. Have you ever used a password protected blog (either .htaccess, restricted entries hacks, pMachine, LiveJournal, etc.)? When and why? How did you determine who you would permit access to this protected area? Nope. I tried using blurty.com but I got bored with it. I decided then to stick with Blogger.
4. Do you let family, real life friends, or work colleagues read your blog? Why or why not? Yup. The things I write in my blog are the things I’m comfortable with other people knowing about it so the things they read are normally the things I’d still tell them.
5. Name one person on your blogroll you'd most like to meet. Why did you pick that person? Where would you go and what would you do? I’d like to meet Aura because of her faith. She has the faith that I’d like to live. I’d probably go with her to her bible studies and Papuri rehearsals. I’d also like to meet Joey because we’ll both be studying the same course at the same school. She’d probably show me around San Francisco and the other neighboring cities? Hehehe. What do you say, Jo? :D
Bonus Question: What new blog did you discover this week? Why would you recommend it to others? Living Room. If you would like to discover and talk about your spirituality, faith, religion, I suggest you visit this site. Darren, the main proponent of the site, is very interactive and talks to you. Try it out, you may enjoy it.

Check this out. It's Time Magazine's 50 Best Websites. If you ever run out of websites to visit, just click the link and you have 50 (and more!) websites to choose from.
This week's friday five:
1. Is your hair naturally curly, wavy, or straight? Long or short? I have short, wavy hair.
2. How has your hair changed over your lifetime? I started out with short hair that I grew long until I was 13 (til about 6 inches past my shoulders). The next year, I had it cut to a bob but grew it long pa rin. For the rest of my high school life, my hair was long enough to be tied back like a ponytail. On my freshman year in college, I had it cut again (chin-length I think) but grew it long again for my debut. Sophomore year, I had it cut really short and I kept it really, really short (almost bald) until I graduated from college. I still have short hair now but nowhere near as "almost bald" as before but I have no intentions of growing it long again.
3. How do your normally wear your hair? I wash my hair, dry it, put on combing cream, brush it and I'm set!
4. If you could change your hair this minute, what would it look like? Red.
5. Ever had a hair disaster? What happened? Back when I had long, layered hair. It was so unmanageable and I was too lazy to fix it so I always had it tied at the back of my hair.
For the past 2 nights, I've been sleeping at the New World Renaissance Hotel at Makati, beside Greenbelt 3. I was able to catch an early show screening of The Hulk yesterday afternoon and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Ang Lee did a great job. He made me feel like I was reading the comic book while watching the original TV series while watching the 2003 movie. I really liked it. And it is way better than Spiderman.
Anyway, I spent most of my time at Powerbooks at Arnaiz Ave, buying numerous books, and Tower Records GB3, where I spent all my money buying CDs once again. Ack! I have no more money!
I had brunch yesterday with an old college friend, Mel, whom I haven't seen in more than a year, since our college graduation. I was supposed to get together with another college friend but we just couldn't match our schedules. Do you know how you'll know that you haven't seen a friend in a really long time? When you can't remember their voice. I talked to my other college friend briefly on the mobile to hopefully plan a "reunion" and, while I was talking to her, I was thinking, "This is how her voice sounds like. I've forgotten already." Geez.
I had a body massage (shiatsu) yesterday at the Fix Salon at First Aid at GB3. Oh it felt so good! I haven't had a body massage in around five months and my body has been calling out for it. My body's just too sore and needed to be relieved of all that stress, fatigue, and soreness. And the best thing about it: it only cost PhP500! Alright! |

I'm used to doing things myself. I can eat in a restaurant by myself. I can watch a movie by myself. I can go to the gym by myself (some people still need buddies. to motivate them daw. ngek). I can do a lot of things by myself. But lately, I find myself alone at house. And it just hit me, how lonely I felt. For the first time in my entire life! Especially now that I'm leaving, with plans of coming home during Christmas lang, damn. I wonder how I'll feel when I'm there already, where I don't know anyone. I mean, sure I have some friends but they all live outside the city. I just keep praying to God to guide me and protect me while I'm there. That's why I want to live in an on-campus housing first so I can get to know more people muna.
Btw, my despedida will be moved to July 19 already. Hazel, don't forget that date! You can not not go! To all my new "blog friends", punta kayo. Gusto ko namang masilayan ang mga "faces" ninyo before I leave. And, Ping, don't worry. I will not forget to catch a Norah Jones and Coldplay show. I will make it my mission. I HAVE TO WATCH IT! Joey, nagpeperform ba si Norah Jones diyan? And Ryan Adams, Coldplay? Hehehe. I'm so excited! |

I watched the 2003 MTV Movie Awards yesterday and omigoodness! Major hottie alerts! Hahaha! I’m getting boy crazy once again. But you know what? Justin Timberlake and Seann William Scott were a perfect team to host the Movie Awards. They were so funny! As arrogant as this may sound, I didn’t think they could pull it off. But they did. And I’m glad. But Jimmy Fallon still rules. Hehehe.
Josh Hartnett presented an award (Best Female Performance, I think) with Harrison Ford. I swear that guy is too hot! He is my sex god. Yes he is. He is just too yummy! Ok, I’m drooling. I better stop. But just look at this.
He is just – hottah hottah!
Hugh Jackman does not look good. Just cut the hair, dude!
I loved this part! Queen Latifah and Adrien Brody were presenting the award for Best Kiss and Queen Latifah kept mentioning the kiss Brody gave Halle Berry during the Oscars.
Ashton Kutcher should dress like this all the time. He was so hot!
I can’t believe this is the same Amanda Bynes from All That! They were like “Hugh Jackman just asked me where the bathroom was!” “Omigod! He totally likes you!” Hahaha! They crack me up! Can’t wait to watch the Lizzie Mcguire Movie.
These girls can’t sing. How come they have a record deal? Hated their performance. And their songs.
Two gorgeous guys together. Haay… It cannot get any better than that.
Can you believe that body belongs to a 40-year-old? Demi Moore looks gorgeous! So that’s what happens when you get a divorce. Hahaha! And rumors are flying she’s dating Ashton Kutcher. Great body, hot partner. Damn! Can’t say the same for the dress, though. A flaw!
I heard they’re dating now. Odd couple but I hope they’re happy. Is Alanis recording another album?
Perfect pair to host this year’s Movie Awards.
Grabe. Mark Wahlberg is still so gwapo. Looking forward to the Italian Job.
Paul Walker is just hot! I’d like to cast him in my movie in a leading role and I’ll be his leading lady! Hahaha!
I’m currently playing the CD of Evanescence, Fallen. I love this album. It’s so captivating. It may be a bit depressing but I love listening to it over and over again. Favorites would have to be Going Under, Bring Me To Life and Tourniquet.
This week's Weekly Wrap-up:
1. Do you like to have your picture taken? Why or why not? Yup! I'm not camera-shy. Formal, informal, creative, stolen, candid, crazy. Name it, I've done it.
2. What is your earliest memory of having your picture taken? I think it was nursery. They were taking my picture for the annual yearbook.
3. What is the best picture you've ever had taken (or took of yourself)? Why did you pick this photo? My college graduation pictures. It showed the "me" that everyone in college saw.
4. Ladies, under what circumstances would you pose for a "glamour shot"? Gentlemen, would you want your girlfriend/wife to pose for a "glamour shot"? Both: why? What's a glamour shot? Like a really formal one? Only for graduation or debut or wedding shots. That takes a lot of time to prepare for.
5. Would you ever pose for nude photos? Why or why not? Nah, I don't think so. I'm not camera shy but there are still things about me that I don't want people to know. In this case though, the only person who'll see this (naked me) will be my husband.

This week's friday five:
1. What's one thing you've always wanted to do, but never have?
That's hard because I don't want to live a life full of regrets and I've always made it a point to try out new things. Oh wait! Now I know. I don't have blue hair. YET.
2. When someone asks your opinion about a new haircut/outfit/etc, are you always honest? I try to be honest but tactful. I choose my words to avoid offending the person asking. But if it's my sister or cousins or anyone in my family, I tend to be VERY frank.
3. Have you ever found out something about a friend and then wished you hadn't? What happened? My friend told me about her sex life, which, when I think about it now, I really don't want to hear. We still talk about sex but not her sex life anymore, which is better, in my case. Some things are just left better unsaid.
4. If you could live in any fictional world (from a book/movie/game/etc.) which would it be and why? Harry Potter's Hogwarts! I love it! Actually, I just want to try the flying part and the Quidditch matches. That would be so cool!
5. What's one talent/skill you don't have but always wanted? Singing. I am such a frustrated singer. I can't carry a tune! But tthat doesn't stop me from still singing my heart out. People don't like going to videoke bars with me because I "tend" to hog the mike and the playlist. They're so slow kasi eh. Hehehe....

I just finished watching the second hour of the 2-hour season finale of Dawson's Creek and I think I just finished crying. It was so touching and so full of lessons in life. Like, when Jen said to Joey to stop running and make a decision already, although I don't agree with Joey's decision. I think what got to me really was what Dawson told her, that what they had was better than friendship, better than being lovers. What they had was forever. They were soulmates. There. That’s what got to me. When will I find my soulmate kaya? Di bale, si Lord na ang bahala. Cha, do not miss the season 6 finale. In fact, if you’re a fan of DC, do not miss the 2-hour finale! Gosh, I just wanna watch it again!
Game 5 of the NBA Finals 2003 will be shown tomorrow over Solar Sports and IBC. Spurs will play at New Jersey again and then, on Game 6, the Nets will play at San Antonio. I just hope the Spurs win it in Game 5 and then Nets to win Game 6 so there’ll be do-or-die game 7.

Do you know what this is? This is the PC game, The Sims Unleashed, and I am hooked! Yesterday, I spent almost 12 hours just playing this. That’s not right. That’s crazy! I’m crazy! Ack!
I plan to get this one soon. It's the newest expansion pack and they got celebrities and KARAOKE! Yeah, karaoke!
Hmmm...have to go back to a videoke bar before I leave for San Francisco.
In other news, Jenna Morasca, the $1M winner of Survivor: Amazon, poses for Playboy, according to this website.
On a sad note, the New Jersey Nets won Game 3 of the 2003 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, 77-76, tying the series, 2-2. Game 5 is set on Saturday (Manila time) at New Jersey. I predict, though, that there will be a Game 7. That would be fun. :) By the way, I just noticed that everytime the Nets won, it's a really close game, like in Game 2, the score was 87-85 and Game 4, the score was 77-76. But everytime the Spurs win, it's a tambak game, like in Game 1, the score was101-89, and in Game 3, it was 84-79 (well, almost tambak). Hehehe. Can you guess who I'm rooting for then? *wink*
Speaking of basketball, the series is tied 1-1 at the PBL Championship Series between Hapee and Viva. Game 3 is on Saturday and I hope Hapee wins it.
Oh and UAAP Season 66 will kick off on July 12 at the Araneta Coliseum. This will probably be my last chance to watch my team play. I don't know when I'll get to watch it live again. Ateneo, my alma mater, will be host this year and the Blue Eagles will also be the defending champions! Yey for my team! I'm glad Magnum is playing again this year. Speaking of that guy, I haven't seen and talked to him since last season, I think. Ack! I think I'll call him before I leave. I'm gonna miss watching the Ateneo games live and just cheering for them. Good thing I attended almost all of the games last season so at least I have no regrets right now about that. I'll just post in a couple of days my assessment of the different UAAP teams when I get the complete line-up of players. I only have Ateneo's with me. Basta, One Big Fight na ako! |

I just finished watching the first hour of the 2-hour show finale of Dawson’s Creek and omigoodness. It just reminded me why I watched and loved the show.
I loved the show because it was mainly about friends. That’s why I continued watching it over the years. My interest started to wane when they (the show’s producers) decided to concentrate on their romantic relationships. Anyway, this episode was just as it should be: about the five of them and their friendship. My friends are very important to me and the reason I loved this show was because it seemed that they were important to each other and they always showed the good times AND the bad times of friendship. But most importantly it showed how real and true friends really are. I’m lucky that I found my true friends in high school. I’ve been with so many highs and lows with them that it’s hard to imagine my future without them in it. Right now, I haven’t been with them in more than three years since we’ve all been busy with our studies and jobs. We’ve been planning so many reunions but almost none of them have pushed through because of conflict in schedules. I know we should have tried harder but at least we’re still together. Oh and did I mention that there were 14 of us in high school? And in college, we “adopted” 2 more friends? So we’re 16 in all. Kaya can you imagine how hard it is for us to get in touch with everyone?
Anyway, this particular episode made me think about my friends much more. If I found out suddenly that one of them was dying of an illness and there was nothing I could do about it, I’d be really helpless. My friends consider the “mother” of the group because I’m always taking care of them, making sure they’ve eaten or if they’ve had enough cuts from their classes or if they need to have a reality check. And the fact that I won’t be able to do anything about it frustrates me. I just hope I’ll never get to experience this until we’re supposed to, like around 50 years from now.
Whenever I feel down or feel contemplative, I try to read some books I have reserved for that. One of these books is called You Can Make Your Life Beautiful by Bo Sanchez. One of his essays is called Nurture Your Secret Life. In this essay, he wrote that when he entered celibate brotherhood, one brother assigned him a chore: toilet cleaning. He was a bit squeamish at first because he never did that before. But soon, he grew to “love” the chore and cleaned the toilet for a whole year. His day wouldn’t be complete if he didn’t clean the toilet. This became his secret life. His public life was preaching in big rallies, where people wanted to get his autograph and shake his hand. If they only knew where that hand was earlier that morning. That secret life kept him in place and pride away from his heart. He said, “It’s easy to be a disciple in front of an applauding crowd. But when no one’s looking – are you still a disciple?”
I’ve been thinking about this for several hours already and I still have not come up with an answer. What is my secret life? In fact, what is my public life? Wait! I know! What is it? Well if I told you it wouldn’t be a secret anymore now, would it?

% where do you LIVE?
Argie just left. Yes, Argie, my high school friend, whom I haven’t seen in almost 3 years. She was here for around an hour and we tried to catch up on everything that happened in 3 years. Well, 1 hour will not be enough to do that but we tried. She told me about her PT adventures, since she’s a Physical Therapy graduate from UST. She told me stories about her internships at Phil. Heart Center, Cardinal Santos, UST and Moro Lorenzo Sports Center. It was so nice seeing her again. I haven’t seen my high school barkada in years and I really miss them. Ida’s baby shower is on Sunday, June 22. I hope I’ll be able to see all of them. Except probably Jill, our –has-been-non-existent-for-four-or-five-years kabarkada. She didn’t have a phone at home, she didn’t have a cellphone. She didn’t have an e-mail address. I know. I know. We should have tried harder. Well so should she. But she never did. The door swings both ways, di ba? Speaking of Ida’s shower, Abi and Mayne still have not replied whether they were going on June 22 or not. Wala ba silang load? Nagpalit ba sila ng number? Andito ba sila sa Manila? Ninakaw ba ang cellphone nila kaya di nila natanggap ang text ko? Just sent them a text message, baka sakali. I do hope they answer back.
Let the things you love be your escape. – Mich Leary, The Long Goodbye
Just watched the Dawson’s Creek episode with Mich Leary’s funeral. Goodness. That has got to be my most favorite episode, apart from the pilot. Over the years kasi, DC lost its appeal. I still think that the best DC seasons were Seasons 1 to 3. And DC Episode 504 was so like the DC I used to love. Season 6 just started showing here in Manila a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been trying to watch it because it was the last season already. Tonight is the 5th episode of the 6th Season and if I remember to watch it, it’ll be the first episode of S6 I’ll get to watch. Oh well…

You're Most Like Carrie! You are a balance between all your friends, incorporating both cynicism and optimism into the group. You're uniqe, and never want to betray that about yourself. You will never stop looking for answers, but you don't let that get in the way of living life. You know when to reserved, and when to be daring. Most of all, you're fun and charasmatic!

Which Jedi Knight are you? go to:the quiz! You are the deceptively spritely Master Yoda. Your past is mysterious and you like bran. Though you walk with a cane, everybody fears your ability to deftly manipulate your lightsaber. Everybody thinks you're alright, but secretly people want to throttle you for your poor english. If
you can manipulate other peoples' minds, why can't you teach yourself to speak?

I think I’m taking way too many quizzes for today. Gotta stop then.
After three weeks or so, I finally went back to the gym this morning. I’ve forgotten how good it feels after working out. I may not be losing as much weight as I want to but at least I’ve kept my stress level in check. Btw, does anyone know a website which lists the amount of calories in different types of food?
I was talking to a college friend awhile ago through MSN Messenger. We met on our sophomore year when she was campaigning for Batch President for Junior Year Council. She won and I was the representative of my course so I got to work with her. The next year, on our senior year, she was Secretary General of our student government and I was a representative for our batch (we were batchmates). We worked together for two years and became quite close. We talked for around 10-15 minutes earlier this evening and, well, I’ve forgotten how much I’ve missed talking to her about stuff. It doesn’t matter what we talk about as long as we get to talk to each other. Wala lang. We had to cut our conversation short because she was going to the gym na.
Is it just me or is Charmed getting lamer by the second? Tonight’s episode was just – not good. And I am tired of the Phoebe – Cole storyline. I mean, please, Cole, just get on with your life and let Phoebe get on with hers. If you really do love her, then let her go! If you guys were meant to be, then you will meet each other once again. There. Now, if only the writers of the show can read this…
Every time I watch Boston Public, I get teary-eyed. Like, tonight’s episode for example. It was the episode where Harvey Lipschultz discovers he has son with an African-American woman. At the last part of the episode, Harvey meets his grandson’s family and is moved to tears because of happiness. Well, I am such a sucker for that and, before I knew it, there were tears coming out of my eyes. At least next week’s episode looks like fun.
Ever since I was in high school, I have always felt strongly about the movement to find a cure and understand AIDS. More than a decade after discovering this fatal disease, people still do not know much about it and have not found a cure for it. According to AIDS.org, as of December, 2000, there were an estimated 36.1 million people all over the world infected with HIV/AIDS, 1.4 million of these are children. And more than half of those infected are Afrikaans, where they don’t receive much help, medicine, facilities and much more. You can help out to fight AIDS by going to AIDS.org or Stop AIDS. Please spread the word to fight this fatal disease.
Yummy! You are a sexy bride!

The producers of Joe Millionaire are probably running out of money or something because last night still wasn’t the last episode! How frustrating. Obviously. Oh well. But being the sucker that I am, I’ll still probably watch the 2-hour season finale next week. Damn. I’m so gullible.
Game 2 was shown this morning over Solar Sport and damn, the New Jersey Nets won, 87-84, I think. Argh! Game 3 will be shown Monday morning here and this time it’ll be at New Jersey. Oh I hope Spurs win Game 3, 4 and 5!
Just saw Kristine Hermosa’s new commercial, yung Dairy Crème Lite. I don’t know why I don’t like the girl. A lot of my guy friends like her because, let’s face it, she’s hot. But otherwise what has she got to be proud of? She can’t even act for crying out loud! Hehehe. Obvious bang inis? Oh well. I used to watch her old soap, Pangako Sa Yo, because I liked her team-up with Jericho Rosales. But now, with their news soaps, they’re just plain boring and overrated.
The Toyota-Crispa reunion match that happened last May 30, 2003 is being shown again over NBN and IBC tonight. I love that game! Galing! Some of the greatest players played in that game and it was nice seeing it as I was too young to really remember their past games. So I’m really glad that the PBA organized this. Hehehe. And obviously, this was a sold-out event.
Went to my lola’s house for lunch because my cousin was celebrating his 7th birthday. Well, my cousin gave me a piece of paper with some pictures sa loob. When I opened it, omigoodness! Pictures ni Patrick Garcia na sobrang crush ko! I’ll try to scan the pictures and upload it here. He’s so gorgeous! Just see for yourself when I post it here.
Watched the second episode of Buttercup, a new show of ABS-CBN, this evening and, well, it’s ok, I guess. I mean, what bar owner would, in their right mind, name their bar Buttercup? And who would go there? People like the stars of the show, I guess. What are the producers trying to achieve here? Not depicting real life, I’m sure. Is this real life? Not mine or my friends. But hey! Miko Palanca’s here. I might be watching the show for him.
Did you guys know that Piolo Pascual is Mr. May 2003 of Most Beautiful Man? Wow. That’s so cool. In a world (or website) that usually features American celebrities, it’s nice to see Asians, particularly Filipinos, being able to break through the surface.
Gorgeous, is he not?
MMDA Chair Bayani Fernando is trying to “lessen the traffic” in Katipunan by cutting down all the trees from C.P Garcia Ave to the Blue Eagle Gym. I do think that’s a stupid idea. The trees aren’t just for aesthetic purposes. They’re there for a reason. I have been going to school at Katipunan (Miriam for 13 years and Ateneo for 4 years) and I have never experienced any form of flood there. Having trees there makes it feel safe for a student-populated area. It makes it feel safe for us to walk I mean, why does modernization have to get rid of the environment? Annie Lou Cruz, a resident of a Loyola Heights village and head of the Greening of Katipunan movement, is leading the movement against Fernando’s move to cut down all the trees. I do hope and pray the trees will stay.
It’s always nice when I meet other Ateneans and Knollers wherever. I always have a special spot for them because we share the same "identity". But I don't limit myself to meeting just Ateneand and Knollers, I like meeting all kinds of people, all over the world. I now have friends in different cities in different countries.
What is your reaction to death?
I got this question from this blog. What is your reaction to death? Personally, I don't look for it but when the time comes, I won't be afraid because I know that soon, I'll be with God. When I was younger, I used to be afraid of death. I didn't want to die young because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do everything I wanted to do by then. I wouldn't be able to live out my dreams and fantasies. But now I understand. I understand that if I die young, it's because what is expected of me is done. I now realize that I don't have to have lived out my dreams to make a difference in this world. I make a difference by touching the lives of the people around me by the way I live and speak. What about you?

I was reading the newspaper the other day and the headlines were kind of, um, disturbing. It said that George Bush and Cardinal Sin want GMA to run for President of the Philippines in 2004. Freaky, I know. I think I’ve had enough of her already. I want RAUL ROCO to win it!
I can’t seem to think straight these past few days. No, wait, scratch that. I can’t seem TO THINK these past few days! Ack! What is happening to me? It’s like a part of my brain just shut down for no reason at all. Hmmm, maybe it thought since it wasn’t being used, it might have to shut down for awhile. Oh goodness!
Was able to catch the latest episode of The Amazing Race 4 this morning. Was disappointed that Monica and Sheree are still in the game. They’re just lucky that they’re still in the game, you know. And Tian and Jaree are still there and part of the top five teams! Ack! I do not like them. I do not see them reaching the top half of the race. Good thing Millie and Chuck, Steve and Josh, & Steve and Dave are still in the race. So far, they’re favorites.
Bye, guys!
Hmmm, who’ll get eliminated kaya next week. Gusto ko si Monica & Sheree or Tian & Jaree. Hehehe.
I was able to watch movies I wasn’t able to watch a couple of months ago. This includes The Tuxedo, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Spy Kids 2 and The Guru. Have watched The Tuxedo and My Big Fat Greek Wedding already this afternoon and they were alright. I guess I had too high expectations. I expected laughs, you know. But all I got were giggles, except for The Tuxedo, starring Jackie Chan. As usual, they showed the bloopers at the end of the movie and they were, well, funnier than the movie itself. It would be cool to be able to do the stuff that Jackie Chan’s character can do there. I’m a frustrated spy kasi. And it was nice seeing Jason Isaacs in a not-so-evil role.
You know, everytime I read Aura’s blog, I develop a craving for Starbucks. I think I’m gonna pay a visit to Starbucks tomorrow. Haven’t had a good cup of hazelnut mocha in more than a month. I am definitely going there tomorrow.
Can’t wait to go back to the gym next week. Haven’t been there in three weeks. Ack! Gonna have to get used to it again. But then I’m gonna have to stop again this August coz I’m leaving. Hopefully I’ll be able to find a good gym when I go to San Francisco.
The San Antonio Spurs won Game 1 over the New Jersey Nets, 101-89. Tony Parker was phenomenal! And Tim Duncan scored 32 points. Wow. I hope they win the NBA Finals this year. Game 2 will be tomorrow at 9am. Homecourt advantage goes to the Spurs once again.
I’m watching the (hopefully) last episode of Joe Millionaire and all I gotta say is, girls, don’t worry about not being selected by Evan (is that his name?) because you girls are way too fine to get stuck with oh-so-boring Evan.
This week’s friday five:
1. How many times have you truly been in love? I think there was one time but up til now, I’m not sure if it was love.
2. What was/is so great about the person you love(d) the most? I just fell in love with him. Period.
3. What qualities should a significant other have? There’s three: He’s got to love, trust and respect me.
4. Have you ever broken someone's heart? Nope.
5. If there was one thing you could teach people about love, what would it be? Love is not the only thing that makes the world go round.
This week’s Weekly Wrap-up:
1. Do you like summer? Why or why not? I like summer because it gives me an excuse to go to the beach.
2. What is your favorite summer activity? Why? THE BEACH!
3. What is your favorite summer destination? Why? Boracay!
4. What are your summer plans for 2003? Well, summer just ended here and all my plans happened so yey for me!
5. Would you be in favor of rotating long breaks for school-aged kids so that there aren't as many out at the same time during summer? Why or why not? No. That’s stupid. What will that achieve? Besides, if you keep some kids in school and some not in school, it’s gonna be hard for the kids in school to stay focused in their studies when they know others are already enjoying their break. Nah. This move won’t be productive.
