I seriously love this guy (Hmmm. I think I love a lot of guys, no?) and I just found out he plays Pieter in Girl with a Pearl Earring. Wow. And he'll be starring in Christopher Nolan's Batman: Intimidation as Jonathan Krane a.k.a. The Scarecrow with Christian Bale. Nice.
I've been reading Girl with a Pearl Earring and, while I'm reading it, all I could think about was, "The role of Vermeer the painter is just tailormade for Colin Firth". I can truly imagine him on the big screen as the painter.
I went to the website of this book and saw a lot of the paintings that were described in the book. It was amazing. I don't want to post the pics up here since I might get in trouble for that but I can point you to the right direction. If you want to see Vermeer's paintings, then go here. He makes me want to start painting myself. But since I can't, I'll have to settle for learning more about him and his paintings and just take up photography.
