Oh no. I've been typing this really long entry and because of some unknown fluke, it all vanished! oh my thoughts! they're all gone! Guess I'll just have to start over.
But I really hate when that happens. It happened to me before already. I was composing a rather long essay. I haven't saved it yet and then it happened. My PC crashed, along with my essay. When I tried to recover it, it was already too late. Hay naku. Now, I always remember to save it every paragraph finished or so. Makes life easier that way.
I was able to catch the Philippine TV premiere of Amores Perros over at Cinema One. Wow. What a bloody movie, literally! Loosely translated to English, Amores Perros means "Love's a bitch". Well the three stories did show that. The first one, Octavio and Susana, is a story about Octavio who falls in love with Susana, his brother's wife and tries to earn money so he could take her away and start a new life somewhere else. But his brother has other plans. He takes his wife and his kids and goes into hiding when he is jumped by thugs Octavio hired. The sad thing is Susanna takes all of Octavio's money. The next story, Daniel and Valeria, is about a family man who leaves his wife and two kids for a model and it seems when they start living together, they are hit by really bad karma. Valeria, the model, is involved in a car accident that leaves her on a wheelchair for an indefinite time and metals holding her right thigh in place. Her contract with Enchant is cancelled. Her beloved dog disappears and she fears rats have eaten him and in the end, due to complications beyond their reach, her right leg has to be amputated. The third story, El Chivo and Maru, is about a man who leaves his wife and daughter to spend time in prison. When he gets out of jail, his wife has remarried and his daughter does not acknowledge him anymore. He spends his life assassinating people, including Maru's stepfather. It's such a sad movie. I mean, love is a really wonderful thing and yet, because they loved, their lives are a mess.
Listening to Elton John and George Michael singing Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me. Love that song! Listening to U2 now. I swear that group is getting better as they grow older. I have no complaints. They are still so amazing. After all these years, they have continued to give us great songs that will be cherished forever.
