Greetings, my friends, I'm back! |
And after a much-deserved vacation (which was bitin, by the way), I am back working and studying.
Beijing was amazing! But very, very cold. Two days before we arrived, it snowed in Beijing and the city was experiencing a negative degree weather when we arrived on the 6th. It was the hardest experience of my life.
But, like I said, Beijing was amazing. We went to Summer Palace, the Great Wall, Forbidden City, saw some part of Tiananmen Square, ate roast duck, had some hot pot and spent a lot of time with my cousin and his family, who is based there. There's really so much to see in Beijing. But I was glad to be leaving because I could not stand the weather there. It was also hard going out because I had to put on four layers of clothes everyday just so I won't get sick from the weather. The best time to go there is definitely late April to early May or September. Weather's just right for us people from the tropicals.
Hongkong was a nice surprise. I haven't been to this place in 12 years so it feels like I'm viewing the city again with somewhat fresh eyes. There are a lot of new attractions, including Disneyland and Avenue Of Stars. And there are also the ones, like the Peak and Aberdeen Fishing Village. But looking at the city now, it seems smaller, somehow. Or maybe there's just too many people.
See for yourselves.
Here are numerous photos from the trip. My sister and I brought two cameras and between the two of us, I think around 2gb worth of pictures. And yes, it took me this long, about a week, to sort, arrange and upload everything.
Here are the pictures sorted by the first place to the last place we went to.
